Activities at the Lodge

Working Farm demonstrations

With over 40 years of farming experience we are very happy to share our knowledge with our visitors. We are also happy to give our guests a working sheep dog demonstration and/or shearing a sheep demonstration for a small fee. This needs to be arranged to make sure “the farmer” is available! Visitors are very welcome to take part in any other farm activities that may be happening at the time, for example feeding animals. This will vary depending on the time of year. We have a variety of farm animals – sheep, cattle, horses, sheep dogs, free range hens, ducks and of course “Wally”, our gorgeous black cat. Lambs are born in September so that is an exciting time of year. Sometimes we will have heading or huntaway puppies too – soooo cute!

Guest Lounge/Games room

The large guest lounge/games room has a full sized pool table, piano, TV, Video, and DVD player. Also, lots of games, puzzles magazines etc, for children to enjoy. This is a wonderfully warm sunny room with 2 sets of French doors opening out onto the veranda with stunning views. This room has a really “good feel” about it and a room very hard not to relax in!

Spa pool on veranda
(see photo at top of this page)

The spa pool is situated on the veranda overlooking the Taieri Plains and the hills beyond. It’s extremely pleasant sitting there in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoying the night sky.
Separate towels are provided for the spa.
